This Journey I have embarked on:

Write 1000 albums, has changed my writing.

I started writing songs when https://substack.com/@kry5tyn introduced me to a little app called SUNO.

I used it to create my Audiobook.

Then a secular thing happened. A particular chapter, sounded a lot like a song.

Where I am at so far:

I am currently writing album 62. It is presently called: A new hope. I say presently because I often change up the names of many things I write when they take on a new meaning for me.

It is important to me that I change with the flow of creativity. Missing an opportunity like that can stifle you or even burn you out. I have to keep it all new and exciting for myself.

For me, writing is a kind of self-discovery. I start by addressing a fear, and then I try to face it head on with the story.

When I write a song:

I usually start with the bridge. Typically: two to three lines I could repeat. It has to be catchy. If it sticks around, then you did it right. Tip: Don’t go to the store. Go-go-go, to the store.

After that, I write the chorus, above it. Here is where we shock or pull our listener in. I paste that above the bridge.

Verse one is arguably the best part. Now we are getting into what you and I are good at, telling a story. How does our story begin?

Second Verse is where we add anything we want. Sometimes, writing a reaction to the first verse is a great tumbler into the third.

Third verse is closing it out. Let’s say our goodbyes. Put something satisfying.

Now, we copy-paste our chorus and bridge between each verse.

I use the following order:

1. Any sound effects or Intro.

2. Chorus

3. Bridge

4. Verse one

5. Chorus

6. Bridge

7. Verse two

8. Chorus

9. Bridge.

10. If your song needs a little more meat, here is a great spot to add a musical interlude.

There are many methods to write a song. This is what works for me. I suggest you experiment and see what works for you. I encourage you to try many methods. You will find your own way, and that is always the best way.

THE STORY

Life is a journey that we are all sharing. What if there is no real difference between us? What if even the people you don’t really like are all part of the same consciousness? What if time, space, existence is something far more simple than anything we can imagine?

This story is simple. It is about people. It is about relationships. I don’t want to go too far into what I think it is about because it can mean something completely different to someone else who is hearing it here.

THE STORY

A month and a week ago, I found myself alone. As it happens when the mind becomes quiet, I realized that as I get older, I am learning that more and more, I find myself alone.

THE STORY

I remember, it was shortly after I finished the audiobook of the Hello Epic. I had a chapter in there that came out very sing-song, when I was listening to it. I thought to myself, “I can do that.” This was the song I wrote. It seemed to work quite well. I did not exactly know what I was doing at the time. I was just flying by the seat of my pants on pure instinct.

I don’t write music this way anymore. My personal sound has evolved since I wrote this as well. This is the kind of thing that may play in the background of a dream.

THE STORY

Finishing up the very long day, of trying to get some panels done for the Hello Epic graphic novel, a song started to form in my head. If you are a fan of the story of this music world, and have been following along, You know that two of the Characters (Singers) are Elune the moon, and Solay, the sun. Respectively.

Solay has taken on the mentor role, as well as the love interest. She has taught Elune some skills he could not have learned without her, and in exchange, he protects her from the others.

The interesting vocals, almost fairytale like sound, swelling bridge, the other worldly feel of the tune says it all.

She is teaching us about what it is to be a king.

THE STORY

I was in the shower when this hit me. Lot’s of writer’s know this is a place where inspiration hits. I think it is because, when we are alone, we become reflective. When going solo, we often turn inward.

By the time I was done, I had the chorus and the bridge in my head. By the time I was dressed, I had the first verse. At the moment my computer booted up, I had the whole song written in my head.

There are medical issues in my bloodline that I do not wish to pass on to some poor kid. Nothing in this life is easy. It has been an uphill battle all my life and I wouldn’t wish it on some kid. I chose not to bring someone into this world.

The harmonies, futuristic sound, swelling bridge, passionate delivery, I think it delivers what I had in mind.

There is a restless feel to it. There is a desperate loneliness. There is fear. He is questioning himself. Possessed by the idea of being with this person. Consumed by it.

I believe it convoys that desperation to not die alone.

THE STORY

I was sitting in my chair, watching a TV show, when this crept up on me and invaded my imagination. It wouldn’t leave me alone. I knew if I just sat there, it may go away. It did not. So I rushed over to my PC, and wrote the whole thing in about ten minutes.

We have all been through enough trauma to engage in the matters of the heart. This is a song about life. There are people in the world that are sheltered from such drama. I am not one of those people.

It came from the scorched earth mentality. I was remembering old times, the child becoming the adult. There’s no manual. No one to say, “This does not matter as much as you think does for the big picture of your life.”

If we had someone who popped in every now and then, and just said: “Oh yeah, that happens to for this reason, and this is what you are going to take away for it, so it may help you down the road.

There is a saying, that removes victim mentality. It is simply, Life happens for you, not to you.

Fliphead sound, will be everything that has to do with what you hear. I was introduced to Suno.com from I thought it was brilliant. At the time I was looking to make an Audiobook and turning into easy to listen pop songs seemed like a crazy thing to do so, I did it.

LYRICS / STORY:
CHAPTER ONE: HELLO MORNING, BUILDING GOOD HABITS IN THE WASTELAND

I USED TO have neighbours. This is not about them borrowing stuff or being loud; I’m just stating a fact. Families. People going to work. Barking dogs. You know, life. There used to be a time when you could take pleasure in reading on your phone while on the toilet. One of life’s little stolen moments of peace. Now there is no kind of peace. A little sleep. Lots of cardio. Not much to read these days. Life is a nightmare I can’t wake up from. Back in the day, I had a bookshelf by my bed covered in great books. I’m not going to bore you with a list, but they were some great stories. Today, though, I’m just happy to wake up indoors. You sleep when you can, where you can. Some fat old men with boobs had some argument and then committed the most horrid crime of trying to destroy each other, and now we are all suffering for the bruised egos of the most selfish bastards who ever lived. We should have marched down there when all this crap started and pulled those snowflakes out of power. They should have been removed by force and sent to jail for their crimes against the world! These fat old, irrelevant bastards have ruined our lives, promising how they were going to change the world for the better. HOW IS THIS BETTER? WHAT I THINK ABOUT BEFORE I OPEN MY EYES I loved my mornings. I would get up at about four in the morning. I eat some steelcut oats. Poop. Shower. Then I would dress in my comfy sweats and run to the park. Along my journey, I would greet whatever neighbours were crazy enough to be up and out like me. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I would wear a high-visibility vest. An older lady who used to walk her dog at this time was hit by a van. I had to make sure I was seen in the dark. Funny, now it’s the opposite. I hide from my neighbours. I hide from the animals. I hide from everyone and everything. I heard some whispers about mutants, but I have never seen anything. I had plans to get into some investments, but then this all happened. One morning I was making my way through the park, but something was off. I didn’t see anyone. There was this smell. Disease. They released it into the public. People were dropping like flies. Not me; I didn’t even catch a cold. This was about stealing freedom. It was about greed. Selfishness was at an all-time high. Getting up early and jogging just felt like a chore at this point. No one waved back anymore. They looked at me like I had two heads. (I checked; I don’t have two heads). They called me crazy. People were cursing at me right in front of their scared children. These animals were threatening me. I’m just minding my own business, trying to get some me time in. Trying to stay positive was hard. I don’t give up so easy. I wouldn’t let them win. Not only that, but I just smiled bigger and waved with more vigour. We were all still alive. What was the problem? Was I the problem? When the bombs dropped, I lost my house. The army came and moved us all into camps. Everything I knew was gone. I didn’t let any of these setbacks stop me. I wasn’t some amateur. I wanted success. I wanted to be a pro! I remembered all of my training from the internet gurus, and I persevered! I remembered developing habits. Every morning I was out there dressed in the simple clothes they gave us (well, because the other ones I had were rags at this point.) If you want a good life, you have to do the work! I was not going to let the end of the world set me back. Eventually, most of the people got sick or died. They got old. Not me though. Funny thing is I don’t have to wear the high-visible vest, I GLOW IN THE DARK!

HOW:

I was writing on Medium for a while. Mostly little throwaway short stories as many of do. This stranger all the way across the world read it, liked then asked a provoking question. “Then what happened?”

At first, I thought, ‘What is he talking about? That’s the end.’ It wasn’t, and he knew that. What a question. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

The next short story / chapter when up a few hours after he posted the question. Each time he gave a shove or a nudge and the book was done in three months.

Medium accused me of being unauthentic and fraudulent because people were highlighted every word I wrote. The whole page was green with highlights.

They didn’t listen to reason. I had no control of that. They banned my account. I tried to contact them. They said they would not fix the problem.

I stayed on for a couple of months. Surely this was a mistake. They Never lifted the ban, but, kept taking my money. Medium seemed scummy.

I cancelled my subscription and came to Substack where my work lives now. I also have a website called Napwarrior.com

This is the beginning of how I began to build music. I wrote every lyric but the music itself is generated by AI. It is unbelievable how you can build your own sound by choosing genres and lyrical styles. You can really get in their and make it your own.

We are going to have so much fun on this journy!
