HERE IN THE wasteland where I am probably about to die. I lived a lot longer than I should have. If death happened before, I may have welcomed it. I was alone for so long.
I think about all the people I knew and how they are all dead. I always wonder about the afterlife, and now one way or the other, I’m going to get all of my answers so I can buy my new family some time.
If life is so hard, death must be easy.
“No more running; no more hiding. Now you die like the worm you are. I’m going to eat you, Boogeyman.”
He set me right up; I couldn’t resist.
“You eat worms?”
In the blink of an eye, he is right in front of me.
“Funny…”
HE SMILES THROUGH HIS BEARD
I can hear their grunts, the shifting of their micro movements. The Ghouls are spilling over the sides of the cliffs and rushing to me.
The horror I see is too much. Monster is tearing through them like a Cane Corso dog with a cheaply made toy. Their flesh is clumping to the ground in tiny piles of Ghoul meat.
All of them are unrecognizable. His horrible laughter is shaking the surrounding air. My mind feels like it is swelling too big for my skull.
Am I about to pop?
I realize it is the sound; he is using vibrations as a weapon. I open my mouth and make a throaty noise from deep in my gut and disrupt his attack.
I’m already on my hands and knees; this is not a good position to be in. Quickly climbing to my feet, I take a swing at him, and he catches my arm. The bastard kisses my knuckles delicately.
I am standing there in disbelief as his teeth, now all sharp, sink into my fist. Tears are already sliding down my face for my Ghouls. My fingers are being shredded.
Monster is pulling my flesh apart from my fingers, like jerky. I am kicking and punching him, but it is all having little to no effect on him.
‘See how worthless they are? You never understood the Ghouls at all. They’re not your friends; they are parasites living off of your light.’ His evil echos in my head.
“MY LIGHT NEVER ENDS!” I yell.
Beams of green light shoot from my shredded fingers like Cowboy’s guns, except that mine are lasers.
Monster is pushed back by the force. I think this may be the first time I felt pain in years. My partly eaten hand is throbbing. I step back from him.
He turns towards me, that darker green glow emanating from the cracks I made in his face.
I look to the cliffs but only find the deafening noise of the battle; my friends are fighting against the attacking humans. All my Ghouls are dead. I am alone.
I punch him in his eye with my flayed bone hand. I feel his eyeball, but it didn’t get pierced. How did he get so strong?
My whole body is lifted into the air and comes crashing into his knee. My flesh feels like a beaten side of beef.
EACH BLOW IS WITH MALICE
His hands are joined around the back of my neck, and his knees are crashing into my gut. I feel my bones cracking. Instinctively, my hands drop and stop his knee from crashing into me.
A horrid pain flows through my armpit, and a tingling chases my flesh as my arm is ripped clean off of my body. I scream out as I watch him devour it like a chicken leg, only he eats bone and all.
I scream out, and the radiation begins to pour out of the hole where my arm used to be. The green soup is spraying over the snow.
I remember how my friends told me to cheat.
I found a rock and threw it at his face. He caught it with his teeth and ate it.
Before I knew what I was doing, I kicked him square (or round) in the balls. I felt nothing there.
“CUT THAT OFF YEARS AGO!” He roars.
He cut off his own balls? What kind of Mons…- Oh yeah, this kind.
He swings a punch at me, and I jump up, wrapping around his arm and biting his fist like he did to me. It was like trying to bite the skin of a pineapple.
I couldn’t help feeling akin to the chihuahua, rest in peace, you little snarling demon dog. I remembered when it came with that pack of wild dogs to eat me and then was later killed by the scavengers. That little thing was so desperate to devour me, it was starving.
Monster hurls me to the ground, laughing at me.
I search around, but there is no board to hit him with like the Cowboy suggested. There is no sand to throw in his eyes, either, sorry Demon.
Before I can react, Monster is on me. His teeth rip into my shoulder. Something is wrong. I realize that I am facing away from him; I tried to roll over, but my other arm is gone too.
All that screaming is making it hard to think.
Oh, that’s me.
I force myself to roll over. Where are my legs? I tilt my neck up to look and see him devouring the last of my lower body.
His body is over me; I have no limbs to fight him off. The roof of his mouth is on my hair. I feel his saliva sliding down my neck.
His teeth, his tongue, his belly acid.
How else did you think this was going to go? This is real life. He is bigger and stronger than me. He ate me…

I know what you're thinking, how is he going to continue the story? Keep coming back and reading, you will see.
